TLDR : Answer Summary
When you hold a 5-year DTV visa and remain in Thailand for 90 consecutive days, you are required to file a 90-day report. However, if you are leaving the country on day 91, you generally have a grace period of 7 days before and after the 90-day mark to submit your report without penalty. Many community members shared that missing the report by a couple of days when leaving the country typically does not incur fines, especially if the exit occurs within the grace period. It's important to note that the 90-day reporting obligation resets each time you exit Thailand.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a visa longer than my 90 days I'm trying to find work

Jenny Puronne . . . my next due date is March 14. I am gonna fly back to Europe by March 16. I would not report, neither online nor in person nor by EMS Thai post (which would be a real option for the panicked few). My exit will clean the 90-days report slate and upon my next entry, the clock restarts at 1. My Immigration won't raise half of an eyebrow that I missed the due date by two days, they won't care

Greg Alexander I had an adwise from thai lawyer here in a chat and they said that its best to report because everything saves in my records. So if I want to live here every year its the best to do the right.

Possibly a 500 Baht fine but possibly not. If it’s longer than 3 days over it’s definitely a fine 500 baht a day

90 days = 90 days.

Why make it complicate and create a future reason to be denied the country? It takes exactly 3 minutes to do that online.

Jenny Puronne depends where it is

But in BKK you go by 6:30 and you are out before 10:00. It's on the second floor now. They have separated it from the visa department and goes much faster. You can do it 2 weeks in advance.

I understand 100% what you mean. But I am fast scary. And I wouldn't take the risk of future discussions or even being denied entry.

But I understand the absurdity of doing the 90 days for one day.

No, your 90 day count resets each time you leave the country. So if you miss the 90 days , no one will blink an eye , once you return you start 90 days from then

Vera Khwanruethai you are correct, one can miss the report by 6 days - the exit overwrites the slate. And the clock starts again when you enter

Vera Khwanruethai type this question into an online search and read the results:

"when in Thailand on a long term Visa, or DTV Visa, is it a requirement to do a 90 day Report? If so, is there any leniency for failing to comply?".

Listen and listen good, I don't Bull shit as you say. This "voluntary advice" I give to the best if my knowledge. If you think different then that's in you . As I said, this is "voluntary advice" that I don't have to give ANYONE. If you think my culinary advice us incorrect then just say so and quit saying I'm bullshitting. This is why I hesitate to give advice to anyone, because people LIKE YOU; and because of people like you who have nothing better to do then to "hound" these sites just to criticize, I'm dropping out of this site, because I am happily retired here, don't need this bullshit and HAPPiLY RETIRED - bye

Clive Jones "As I understand" means that you don't know for sure!

I'm not 100% sure, except it's a legal requirement to lodge the 90 Day Report, but I think you'll find that if it's not lodged, the next time the person goes to an immigration office, or maybe even enter the country next time, they would be advised that they have a fine outstanding (2000 Baht, I believe).

Colin Boyland a missing lodging means that you have either forgot, or left the country. You have a 7-days leeway to report late. This means if you leave the country within this leeway period, you are fine, because that's when the lodging is overwritten. I did already leave Thailand on day number 92, and back on Immigration a few months later, nobody raised even half an eyebrow

They wouldn’t do the report, if you’re leaving shortly ie within a week of 90 days, I went there and they said they need a booking of atleast 7-10 days atleast. It’s a grey area, even with a thai friend along they couldn’t explain anything and said you can go no worries as leaving within a total count of 96 days

You report every 90 days you can go over by 7 days. If i was you explain everything at airport imigration. At this point doing a 90 day online report would just confuse everything.

You are legally obliged to make a 90 day report every time you spend 90 consecutive days inside Thailand

Trevor Kay so rude to call one of the most informed people, "uninformed"! Look at the title next to John's name... It's there for a good reason, it's been earnt. Why do you think it's called a "90 Day Report"? If you spend 90 days in the country you're required to lodge the report. The window within which you can do the report has nothing to do with the fact it has to be done

Colin Boyland I beg your pardon, I already missed and left on day number 92, well knowing that I still had a time frame open for 5 more days in which I could make the report. Back on Immigration a few months later, nobody ever mentioned it

if you know you're going to be inside Thailand for 90 consecutive days you can report that fact from 2 weeks before to 1 week after the 90 day date. Nevertheless the obligation to report is determined by spending 90 consecutive days inside Thailand
