Hi everyone, I'm a bit confused about address registration.

I've a 1 yeal multi entry non o visa based on marriage, so every 90 days I have to get out of Thailand.

I live in the same condo since more than a year.

I never ever registered or not even sure my name is on the contract of my home, probably is only on my wife's name.

All I do is to put the name of my condo on the tm6 when I get in Thailand.

Do I have to go to Chang Wattana to register everytime? Should my owner do something?

If I keep on not doing anything all I can risk is just a 2000thb fine whenever I'll need to go the immigration?(which would be better than wasting a day in that place)

Apologies if this had been asked and explained many times before, tried to follow but I got just more confused.

Thanks a lot

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of address registration in Thailand, given their 1-year multi-entry non-O visa based on marriage. They express confusion about whether they need to register their residence, located in a condo where they may not be on the rental contract, particularly since they do border runs every 90 days and fill out the TM6 form upon re-entry. Responses indicate that address registration is currently not strictly enforced in Bangkok, and as long as the user is leaving the country every 90 days, they are not obligated to report their address. There is also mention of a possible fine of 2000 THB if registration is not completed, but the consensus seems to be that the immigration office is not currently concerned with the TM30 form related to their situation.

One, last time, AT THIS TIME the immigration office out at Chaengwattana in Bangkok does NOT care in the least if you or your land lord has filed a TM.30 form.

It's admirable that you want to do the right thing, but that's how it is out there right now.

You are required to do a border bounce every 90 days. As a result you aren't in the country for more than 90 days and you aren't required to do 90 day reporting.

Bangkok does not enforce the address registration at the moment.

And until they do post an official policy change out at Chaengwattana let's keep the speculation down as of THIS MOMENT the immigration office at Chaengwattana does NOT require a TM.30 to do anything out there

I may be wrong, but I highly doubt that. While reliable stats are hard to obtain, there are something in the order of 400,000 resident foreigners in Bangkok. If all of them have to present themselves to Chaengwattana within 24h of arriving in the country, it's going to be complete chaos.

The system works fine at the moment because most up-country immigration offices are quiet, with few foreigners living in the area and thus reporting is straightforward. Even where there are busy offices (Jomtien, Chiang Mai, for example), the foreigners who live there don't tend to travel that much. CW, however, is already incredibly strained. Any visit there is necessarily a long, tiresome day. I work for one of the largest employers of foreigners in Thailand, and there are people in my organisation (and literally hundreds, if not thousands, of organisations and companies) who travel outside the country every other week. If they have to present themselves to CW every time they land, it'll be disruptive, both to Chaengwatta and everyone who has to do it...

We will see what happens, as long as it did not change it is the way it is.

@Robert ******
. They'll soon be changing that at CW, as everyone keeps on Advertising the Fact..!

As I said in my first comment: Bangkok Immigration does not enfore this rule, so he don't have to visit Bangkok Immigration. In for example Phuket, Chonburi and Chang Mai the registration has to be made every time you come back from abroad, even when this is just a border run to get a new 90 day visit on your multiple entry visa.

@Robert ******
this is what confuses me a bit.so every 3months my landlord is supposed to go to cw (don’t know how many properties he owns).what about the fact that probably I’m not even on the contract?
Robert *******
Your landlord should report you within 24 hours after arrivel. He can do this with the TM30 form, copy of your id page passport, copy of his ID and housebook. If he has more properties for rent he can register himself at Immigration and do the reporting on line.
