What are the rules for border bounces and TM30 forms for a multi-entry O visa holder in Thailand?

I'd like to get a couple of things clarified if possible. Firstly, about border bounces, in my case to activate another entry on a one year multi-entry O visa. Secondly, the TM 30.

1. As I have to border bounce every 90 days (Maesai), am I still tied to the rule of maximum two land crossings per calendar year? Or, can I make more than two land crossings if it's only for this purpose?

2. Do I need to get a new TM30 every time I border bounce, as a result of being issued with a new TM 6? It's a round trip within a day.

3. I have lived at the same residence for my entire stay in Thailand. If I or my landlord have to inform Chiang Mai immigration, what information will they require and do I need to go to their office?

Many thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks clarification on the rules regarding border bounces for a one-year multi-entry O visa, specifically regarding the limit on land crossings, the requirements for the TM30 form after border bounces, and the necessary notifications to Chiang Mai immigration when residing at a stable address. Comments suggest that visa holders are not restricted by the maximum two land crossings per calendar year, the TM30 filing is not strictly enforced if the residence remains the same, and that previous address records should suffice for reporting.

You do not need to fill out a new form when you go back to immigration and report your address if you have already done it at the same address. Just say you went to mae sai and came back and you are staying at the same house. They will look up your passport and see your landlords name attached to it and then they will give you a new receipt which should be in your passport already. At least that’s how it is here in Chiang Rai.

Here's the real scoop on the TM.30.

IF you never need to go to the immigration office (like on a year long multi-entry Non-O visa where you border- bounce every 90 days) while technically you need to file the form, IF you don't they won't know and won't care.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but it's up to you. Chiang Mai requires people show back up after comin' into the country and getting home within 24 hours to update their TM.30 information. BUT it only really applies to people who go to the immigration office for extensions of stays, residence certificates, 90 day reports, re-entry permits etc.

Keep in mind a residency certificate is needed to get a drivers license..

Thanks Todd, that makes good sense.

1) no, the limit only applies to visa exempt entries. Visa holders are not limited
