What should I do if the DTV Visa application requires flight and accommodation details that I cannot provide without prior approval?

Hello everyone,

I am currently preparing my application for the DTV Visa to settle in Thailand, and I’ve encountered a situation that left me quite confused.

On the official embassy website, they list all the required documents for this visa, but there is no mention of needing flight or accommodation details. However, when I tried to submit my application, I was asked for an arrival and departure date, a flight number, and proof of accommodation.

* My main concerns:I cannot book a flight without knowing whether my visa will be approved, especially since the Thai Embassy in Paris takes about a month to process applications.

Additionally, they ask for accommodation details, but I would rather wait until my visa is approved before making any reservations.

* Question : Has anyone here faced this situation? How did you manage to fill out these fields without booking a flight or accommodation?

Furthermore, I’d like to know if it’s possible to submit a spouse visa application for my partner at the same time as my DTV Visa to avoid wasting more time.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your experiences or tips regarding these points. 😊

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Spouse DTV: You can get the application ready and save it as an incomplete application until you get yours, but you cannot put it in at the same time: one of the documents you need to take your spouse is the approved DTV! Get everything ready in the application mask, then as soon as you have your DTV, go to the unfinished one, upload the last documents you just got, and send it! Note: in my embassy, they only hold unfinished applications for 14 days. The mask will tell you once you log in.

You won't need to show proof you have purchased a ticket, and they wouldn't expect you too. Just look for an ideal flight and date assuming all works out and put that one down in the application.

Flight numbers are like busnumbers, they tell the route, but not the date and time.

You can just look up flight details and use that without actually booking. As to your partner, and assuming you are actually married, you first get your visa then she applies for hers as your dependant

Book a fully refundable flight if that gives you peace of mind. Same with hotels.
