For Americans that applied for the DTV in the USA, did you have to show a plane ticket and intended place to stay ? The LA consulate lists neither as a requirement and it says you can use the visa whenever you want.

But did they make you show a plane ticket and place to stay in Thailand or no ?

How months of bank statements did they want ?

Because when you apply it says don’t apply more than 3 months before intend stay.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for a plane ticket and proof of accommodation when applying for a DTV visa from the USA may vary by consulate. While the LA consulate does not list them as mandatory, applicants from the DC consulate reported having to provide a flight number or booking information. Both consulates appear to only ask for one month of bank statements, but applicants are advised not to apply more than three months prior to their intended stay.

I applied through Washington DC, I didn't have to show a plane ticket but they did ask for a flight number. I only showed 1 month of bank statement. I rent a condo, so that was the address I used.

When I applied via DC, it required a plane ticket. I just found a flight, placed a hold on it, got sent the booking reference number, and then put that in the application. A lot of people did it that way.

Banks statement, DC only required one month statement. Not sure if LA is different.

And I can’t confidently say about the 3 month period but I think there is a 90-day rule where you have to enter within 90 days of getting your visa.
