Hi, I have a multiple entry tourist visa, do I need to present form tm30 to extend for 30 days my 60 day stamp? I intend to extend it in Bangkok? Are there any places where this form is not required? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of presenting the TM30 form to extend their 60-day stamp while holding a multiple-entry tourist visa (METV) in Bangkok. Responses indicate that while it is possible to extend the visa with a TM30 form, it is not required if the user chooses to travel out of Thailand and re-enter for a new 60-day entry stamp. The requirement for TM30 may vary by immigration office, with some offices reportedly requiring it for extensions.

you're on a valid METV, you don't NEED a 30 day extension (unless you're on your last entry you got before the visa expired)

just bounce out and back at a border to get a new 60 day entry stamp. that gets around you needing a TM30, 🙂

if I’m staying at an apartment that is in the name of a Thai National (doesn’t own the apartment but rents it), can that person fill the form tm30 or does the landlord or owner of the apartment has to fill out this form with immigration?

Thank you for the advice, do you know if there are any immigration offices where this could be done near suphan buri?

you cannot shop for a Thai Immigration office. You MUST use the one where you are living.

every province in Thailand has an immigration office. But you'll need a TM30 showing you're staying in that province to be able to use that office.

i'd say have them go wtih you to the immigration office with their lease, their thai i/d and see if they can file a TM30 in Section B on you. It's the same office as Section J, (right next to it almost 🙂 )

OR

slog on out there and try to get the extension without it.

I mean they might not ask, reports are they ARE asking but some people skate thru..

There are OVER 80 immigration offices in thailand, Some do require it some don't

If you have a 6 month METV you would go to the main immigration office in Bangkok out at the government center Building B, on Chaengwattana Road to get the extension on the 60 day stamp you came in on.

Reports are that Section J out there, (the section that does 30 day tourist visa extensions) does require a TM30.
