I'm a US passport holder entering Thailand on a 30 day visa exempt. What is the process for extending this visa and can it be done at a field office in Thailand? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder can extend their 30-day visa exempt in Thailand at any immigration office for a fee of 1,900 baht. After January 25, 2022, if applicable, they can apply for a COVID extension for an additional 60 days. It's recommended to take passport-sized photos and the process typically takes about 30 minutes. There may be a requirement for the TM30 form during the extension process.

Are they asking for TM 30 now? Last time I did an extension in February 2020 they were not.

The closest immigration office near where you are staying. Easy process, just remember to take some passport size photos with you. I did mine last year and only took about 30 minutes.

1,900 thb then after that if the COVID visa is still ongoing after 25 Jan 22 go back to immigration and get the COVID extension which is good for 60 days… if you’re lucky enough to end your 30 days on the extension prior to 25 Jan 22 go back to immigration and get the 60 day COVID extension…this extension is basically unlimited some people have used it for the past 22 months non-stop since the pandemic began… good luck
one time only. You’d get a further 30 days. If you want to stay longer you’d need to look into the options available like an education visa or volunteer visa, or if they’re still selling the “I don’t want to travel because of covid” extension you could apply for that.
