Hi, I am on an Ed visa and I am currently out the country I got a re entry permit and am heading back to Thailand on Friday. Do I have to go back to immigration to notify them I am back? (TM30) or can I just do this next time I go to immigration and pay the 800 baht fine? Thanks 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
After returning to Thailand on an Ed visa with a re-entry permit, you can either notify immigration about your return by filing the TM30 in person or allow your landlord to do it. If you choose to delay this notification, you may face an 800 baht fine during your next immigration visit.
IF you arrive Saturday, you can go on Monday, self-file and not get an 800baht fine OR you can go later AND get an 800baht fine. Those are your choices..
You can ask the land owner, house owner, land lord, house master to make the report in person or by using the on line system but if you like you can do this your self.
Ok thanks but I arrive back on Saturday immigration is not open on the weekend so I would already be going over the 24 hrs does this mean I will still have to pay the fine
Well the 6 months visa is already 21 weeks ago, so only 3 weeks left. The 1 year Multiple Entry Visa she did not get because she needed a re-entry permit. Not sure what she like to do in the future but that has nothing to do with the law that she must be reported within 24 hours after arriving at an address in Thailand. I will advice, get the report done, I will never advice break the law in your host country to show your gratitude for excepting you as student.
because I don’t have time within the first 48 hours of being back in the country so that’s why I’m asking if I am able to do it later and pay the fine
