Hi there. I just wanted to check. I am a A Canadian and currently on a Non-O visa from last year. I got the 1year extension which expires Feb.1, 2023. My wife and I arrived back in Udon, yesterday from Canada ( we were there from March 30, 2022), Saturday, Oct. 8 in the afternoon. Must I go to Udon Immigration tomorrow, Monday to file a TM30? Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian expat with a Non-O visa inquired whether it was necessary to file a TM30 form at Udon Immigration upon returning to Thailand after a stay in Canada. Several commenters confirmed that filing a TM30 is required after returning from abroad. They advised that policies can vary by immigration office and provided an overview of common TM30 filing rules.

When you're there filing, ask them for their TM30 policies. You'll need to ask this every year because each office is different and they also change their policies from time to time. There are basically 3 policies that offices follow.

1) any time you travel anywhere, both inside and outside of Thailand, you must file a new TM30 when you return home.

2) if you only travel inside Thailand, you don't need to file a new TM30 as long as you return to the same address you filed before.

3) no matter where you travel, both inside and outside of Thailand, as long as you return to the same address, you don't need to file a new TM30.

I would say #2 is the most common, followed by #1.

you can apply for a new extension when you have 30 days or less left at most offices

I went to Udon and the IO was very polite, quick and helpful in processing my 90 day stamp. He said if I wanted to I could renew at somewhere else, but I would have to submit more paperwork, and again submit a TM30 on return to Udon.

My next date for the 90 day report is Jan 7th. Note, my original 1 year marriage extension of my Non-O visa expires on Feb. 1, 2023.

My question is can I now reapply for a 1 year extension before my existing one based on mariage expires? The leaflet I have notes that a TM7 must be filled out and valid documents be submitted including a valid Non-O visa. The last Non-O visa I have is from 2021 which I used to get my current 1 year extension. Thanks very much!
