I received the TM30 related email telling me I needed to register on the new page. It took a few goes but I managed to register without much trouble. I got the confirmation email and password etc.
The question is do I need to file a new TM30? There was no suggestion that I had to, only that I had to register and I provided the necessary documents.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the necessity of filing a new TM30 after receiving a registration confirmation for the updated system. Responses suggest that if a TM30 has been previously filed, there is no need to submit another unless traveling. It’s recommended to verify specific policies with the local immigration office.
I filed a new report and then printed the report details.
I wanted to make sure that I knew how to do the report and how to print the submission, rather than wait until I needed to do it for real and then realize that I didn't know how to.
The replacement of the system doesn't mean wiping out existing data. We understand the TM30 receipt in your hand is still valid and no need to re-submit it on the new system unless you travel. But this is what we could understand, not your immigration office policy.
