Do I need to complete TM30 registration in Phuket if I already have the paperwork ready?

Hey guys, back in Phuket and have a question about the TM30. The last 2 times I went to phuket town immigration to do the tm30 as part of a setv visa the volunteers told me dont bother and just get the 30 day extension. (I had all the paperwork ready for them) My husband got his done a while ago to open up a thai bank account and we are still in the same house he registered with so, my question is...do I need to get this done or wait again till I need the 30 days extension and see if they require it then?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the need to complete the TM30 address registration upon returning to Phuket, despite having previously received contradictory advice suggesting it may not be necessary if intending to apply for a 30-day extension later on. They mention their husband successfully registered previously for a bank account and are uncertain whether to register now or wait.

Following. I live in Phuket and have literally just arrived back after getting a Non O visa from Laos. Do I need to go straight to immigration tomorrow to register my address? Sorry to jump on your post ha.

Within 24 hours, yes. You need to do it even if coming back from another province within Thailand. Phuket is particularly hardcore about this. It is more likely to matter on a non-immigrant visa where you will in time need to do 90 day reporting. If a tourist visa and you were not planning on going to immigration for anything, might not matter so much.

Just to clarify she is the owner of our house. Surely I don’t need to manufacture a rental agreement to live with my wife?

If your wife is Thai and she rents the house let her join you. No idea if the want to see her rental agreement or a statement that she lives with you.

Robert thanks for posting the link! What’s the situation if I am living with my wife in her house? Does a rental agreement actually need to be made?

thanks robert...I had everything they requested the last 2 times and they told me the paperwork was to much for them to deal with and just get the visa extension which I did. Will pop in tomorrow with the paperwork and hopefully get it sorted.
