TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats have varying experiences regarding the use of new bank accounts for DTV visa applications. Some consulates may only require evidence of the necessary funds in your account on the day of application, while others may have stricter rules requiring the balance to be maintained for three to six months. It's recommended to check the specific requirements of the Thai consulate you are applying to, as some may allow using overseas accounts as well.
In my experience, I sent a certified document from my bank, with my balance at that time, and this document does not say anything about whether the account is new or not.
Some consulates require only that you show the 500K baht in the bank account the day you apply BUT some require the balance for 3 and some even 6 months now ๐ฎ
.
You should check the website of the thai consulate you're going to apply at and see what they post.
