in this case if you test positive they only pay your medical treatments, you have to pay for the hospital quarantine by yourself

No need a special insurance tailored especially for Covid, but you'll need a medical insurance that does NOT exclude Covid. So yes, Covid coverage still needed.

I am trying to say that, you don't have to do specific insurance for Covid coverage, you can do travel insurance or general insurance.

several uk travel insurance do not cover covid. I've just taken out insurance so checked this.

Immigration didn't check anything insurance-related for me when I came in around a week or two ago, but I'm a non-O. Tourist/retirement/etc may be different dependent on visa requirements
