I know it's been brought up before but what is the process for the Thai Pass? I've put off traveling back to Thailand due to many posting the difficulty in getting it approved. I'm traveling from United States and have had booster for covid.

Understand I need following information to upload

1) covid Insurance. Where did you get yours?

2) flight and hotel information

3) passport screen shot

What else is required? Who or where am I uploading all this? Is uploading it difficult? Once approved will it download as a QR?

How far out can I apply for thai pass?

Just trying to get information needed in a simplistic way. Yes I'm not that great with using smart phone properly.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling back to Thailand requires applying for the Thailand Pass, which involves submitting several documents, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination, health insurance covering COVID, flight and hotel information, and a passport screenshot. You can upload these documents at the Thailand Pass website. Though many express concerns about the difficulty of obtaining the pass, recent responses indicate that the application process can be completed quickly, often taking only minutes with approvals within hours. Remember that the required documents must be uploaded in JPG format, not PDF. You may start applying as soon as you have your travel plans, and the pass is expected to generate a QR code upon approval.

Thanks for the help and information everyone has given. I've read so many negative comments about the application process that it has kept from traveling back to Thailand. Appreciate this very much.

Take note that the Thai pass web page only accept documents uploading in jpg format; pdf is not acceptable. So, make sure your insurance cover note and other docs are in jpg format.

You must register for a Thailand Pass with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate and a policy of insurance .

You can use this comparison tool for the most commonly used insurance on entering Thailand.

The Thailand Pass application takes 2 minutes to complete and approval for most people comes within hours, and starting 1 June, will become instantaneous. If you are capable of booking a hotel or plane tickets online, you certainly should be capable of filling out the Thailand Pass application.

Only the date of entry is required, hotel information is not necessary.

Those people who are over and over telling us that it's difficult to obtain the Thai Pass have probably never left their home town.

Load up a letter from your insurance, which has NOT to be a Thai insurance company, and your vaccination certificate and you will be approved easily.

The Thailand Pass is easy to get, even with your own health insurance, if that insurance also covers COVID. So, before getting an extra policy, ask for a coverage letter from your current assurance! Save money, don't fall for the money -scheme. Approval takes up to a few hours nowadays.

Proof of vaccination needs to be up loaded also unless you want to quarantine on arrival.
