Do I need a TM.30 to apply for the COVID-19 visa extension in Thailand?

Hi,

Am going to try to do an "unable to travel due to covid" 60-days extension next Monday before my 30+30 visa exemption expires on the 24th (so 1 week earlier so as not to lose too many days on my current visa, but still get some reaction time in case I get the boot).

Have seen a couple of positive reports from "covid extenders" at MTT in Bgk these last few days on the group, even 1 who had had many covid extensions (mine would be the 1st).

Now, do I absolutely need a TM.30 to get that covid extension? If yes, I arrived on Test&Go 1-day quarantine. Who is supposed to give me the TM.30? The hotel (I stayed there 1st 2 days) or the landlord of the condo I currently live in?

I contacted my consulate (French) and it's a no-no for any letter, so no help on that side. I believe these are the only 2 "special" documents I need for covid extension? And does it help my chances to get the extension if I get an appointment instead of just showing up?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice about applying for a 60-day COVID-19 extension at MTT in Bangkok before their current 30+30 visa exemption expires. They are uncertain if they need a TM.30 to get the extension, given that they entered Thailand under the Test & Go program. They also inquire about who is responsible for filing the TM.30 form and whether it is advantageous to book an appointment rather than walk-in at immigration.

I will go and try covid extension tomorrow. Will report how it went. Same situation as you pretty much.

Yes, already extended, and yes answer from Benjamin saying "[May not be asked for Bangkok Immigration] A TM30.", so not sure if I should try to get it from landlord, cos it really looks like an hassle (landlord passport copy, property deed etc). I also saw a few posts on the group where covid extenders said the officer asked them for their return flight...

I very much doubt they did it, but have asked for it anyways this morning, let's see if they can produce it before this week-end. About return flight ticket, is this only asked for "multiple" covid extenders? (this would be my first)

Thx for confirming abt flights, that was my feeling too. Browsing the posts of the group I also saw the TM.30 appear a couple of times for covid ext. so I started worrying ! Great news if I can do it myself, worst case if no news from landlord I will self-file it Friday afternoon. I had read it needed multiple property documents such as property deed

Good Luck...

Follow your plan at MTT.

And YES you will need a TM 30 filed for your current address.

And have you already obtained the 30 days extension from your visa exempt entry of 30 days?

If not...most likely the immigration officer will only grant you the 30 days.

If you can get an appointment

Do it.

It appears from an earlier post you arrived November 26th

So you already have obtained your 30 day extension.

@James *******
have you heard of any cases where Bangkok granted the 60 days before the 30 days?
