Hi all! I need advice, for getting the 60 days covid extension in bkk they require a tm30. However i can’t obtain one as i’m only staying here at my friend, is it possible that i’ll just show her tm30 and a copy of her passport and say that i’m staying with her? Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can help 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around obtaining a 60-day COVID extension in Bangkok, specifically the requirement of a TM30 form, which informs immigration about the foreigner's place of stay. The original poster is unable to obtain a TM30 for their friend's place. Comments suggest that using someone else's TM30 is not permitted. Alternatives include having the landlord report the stay, having the friend provide documented proof with a self-reporting TM30, or staying in a hotel where the TM30 can be provided without issues.

In theory, you *MAY BE* able to self report to Bangkok Immigration. According to Tod Daniels:

"This is the way you need to fill out the TM30 form if you are filing with NO documentation from your land lord

Your name goes at the top of the form, your address goes under it, then your address AGAIN as the address where the foreigner lives.

In the blank area at the bottom left hand side of the piece that they will tear off and give back to you write your address again.

On the second page (the table) put all your information.

You sign BOTH forms on the signature lines. Print the forms correctly. the first page is portrait orientation and second page is landscape orientation :O

Make copies of;

-lease

-data page of your passport

-visa (if you have one)

-extension (if you have one)

-entry stamp

-TM6 departure card

sign the copies of your passport stuff.

This is a way to file a TM30 in BANGKOK without any information from your land lord at all. <- (meaning you don't need their i/d, their house book listing, a power of attorney form with the 10 baht in tax stamps).

AFAIK: this ONLY works in Bangkok but I can say with 100% accuracy that it does work " (Source:

You need a lease though. I don't know how legal subleasing it in Thailand :(

IF you entered on a tourist visa/ visa on arrival/ visa exempt, you are a tourist and you should be able to spend the night in a hotel in any city, have the hotel file the TM30, and use the printoff of their TM30 as proof.

Someone else's TM30 wouldn't work for you.

Your choices could be:

1. ask your friend's landlord to report you

2. have your friend get the landlord's ID and bluebook signed copy so that your friend can report you (similar to self-report)

3. slight possibility that you might be able to TRY to report by yourself with an invitation letter from your friend, copy of her contract, ID (passport), etc, etc.. -by theory..

4. stay some hotel inside Bangkok and get TM30 receipt from there

Everyone who is not Thai needs to let the local immigration office know where they are staying no later then 24 business hours after they start staying.

If your friend Thai?
