Should I send my complete passport scan with my visa application or wait until asked?

Scan of passport & Flight Confirmation

From what I read, quite a few people have been asked to hand in the scan of their complete passport, including the blank pages, but only after they applied.

Would you recommend to wait for the embassy to ask for the scan of the complete passport or would you send it directly with the application?

Do I need a flight confirmation? If yes, only one way or return flight?

I plan to apply from Vietnam.

TLDR : Answer Summary
In the context of applying for a visa from Vietnam, it's generally advisable to wait for the embassy to request a scan of your complete passport, including blank pages, rather than sending it preemptively. Many users agreed that sending additional documents prematurely could complicate your application process. Regarding flight confirmation, it's sufficient to provide a one-way ticket, though it is commonly requested to show a return ticket when checking in at the airline counter.

For flight ticket at airline counter when u check in normally they require return ticket along with your visa

Of course u are not sure of the return date I can set you free with this ( only 10$ fee)

We just buy you one way ticket , I will issue separately the return ticket the day of your departure to check in ( after check in and enter country I cancel this return ticket as travel agent I can cancel ticket same day without charge )

Then when your DTV is approved you just buy new ticket ( free of mind , free of change fee …)

They ask for all your passport pages AFTER you’ve applied and they’ve looked at your application because at that point they want to make sure you haven’t left the country once you’ve lodged the application.

Sending that beforehand does not prove that.

Wait till they ask for it.

Never send in things that are not asked for. You're more likely to complicate matters than simplify them.

Also, even if you did send every page, they would likely ignore it at the point that you sent it in, then when they wanted it later on they would just ask for it again.

On top of that, the "purpose" of asking for every page is an attempt to catch you doing something wrong. If you already sent every page of your passport from the beginning, that defeats the purpose. At that point they would just ask you for something different, like proof of receipts and photos of your location.

You could send in all your passport pages preemptively with the scan of your Vietnam visa, entry stamp, and accommodation booking. All that after you've crossed into Vietnam of course and then submit your application. worst case scenario they ask for more recent photos.

Yes wait until asked before handing in all passport pages. One way flight is fine, intended flight is ok.
