Could my previous ED visa and remote work cause issues with my DTV visa application?
Hi everyone, I have a question about applying for a DTV visa.
Earlier this year, I was living in Thailand on an ED visa while studying Thai. During that time, I was also working remotely for a foreign company.
I've now left Thailand and am applying for a DTV visa, but they've asked me to submit photos of every page of my passport. My passport contains my ED visa stamps.
The documents I submitted for the DTV application also include proof that I was employed during that period. Could this cause any issues with my DTV application? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

They've got all your visa history on their computer. They are asking for a copy of every page in your passport, including the blank pages, because they question whether you are still in the country you applied from. Keep in mind if you don't submit what they asked for you will be rejected. The dtv is designed to make you legal for what you were doing before illegally. That is why the dtv was created, to get everyone legal.

Of course it could be an issue. Really depends on how much scrutiny from the consular. They might not even put two and two together

I really do not think embassies are looking to see if you worked illegally while on the Ed. Plenty of people in your situation have received a DTV. No need to overthink it.

There’s a not 0 chance it could be an issue. Certain nationalities do receive more scrutiny than others so if you were Burmese (for example) they may look into dates and time more than they would for someone on a US passport.
