What experiences do DTV dependents have regarding interviews and documentation for applying in Laos?

Hi everyone, I saw a post in other group a few days ago from someone who applied for a DTV Dependent Visa in Vientiane, Laos and mentioned that they were called for an interview.

I would like to ask if there are any other DTV dependents here who were also called for an interview?

If so:

* What questions were you asked?

* What additional documents did they request you to bring?

My spouse was granted a DTV (Digital Nomad category) last year and is already the main DTV holder. I am now planning to apply separately as a DTV dependent.

For my application, I plan to submit:

* A sponsor letter from my spouse (the main DTV holder)

* My spouse’s foreign bank account (USD) as proof of funds

If the embassy asks to see the bank account on a mobile phone, the account will be under my spouse’s name, not mine and which I don’t have on my mobile. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you demonstrate that the funds belonged to the main DTV holder who was sponsoring you?

Also, for those who attended an interview, did you bring printed bank statements (PDFs) along with the original supporting documents?

I would really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you very much in advance! 🙏
Answer summary
The post inquires about experiences related to applying for a DTV Dependent Visa in Vientiane, Laos, specifically asking if others have been called for interviews, what questions they faced, and documents they had to present. The author is preparing to apply as a dependent of their spouse, who holds a DTV visa. Concerns include how to show proof of funds when the bank account is in the spouse's name and the necessity of bringing printed bank statements and other supporting documents to the interview.

Never ever use agents for anything.

You should act as a adult and do this kind of simple things yourself

Read this Post if you are doing the border bounce by yourself ..

It's best to use an experienced BORDER BOUNCE service company...

No need for an agent. As soon as you step foot in the port you’ll be approached by fixers offering to arrange everything for you. If you see any other farang you can pool your resources and share a boat. Make sure to bargain.

You have to have 3 copies of your passport. On the Myanmar side either $10 (new bill) or 500 baht plus 200 baht.

I can assure you that their reports are correct. I serve as a Moderator on 4 Facebook forums which are Thai Visa Advice related forums. Be prepared for questions. Politely answer Good Luck 🍀

BTW... I recommend using an experienced border run service company if you are going to do One by land borders.

Not all land borders are available for a same day return. Thats not a problem when using a BORDER BOUNCE service company.

I did that for my first exit/reentry from Hua Hin. 6 hour drive both ways. Too long. I'll just fly to vietnam from bangkok next time i think or hopefully Hua Hin has international flights by then. To Ranong i had a private taxi driver take me. She even brought her friend to switch her out driving. In the end, cost me quite a bit more than flying out of bangkok. Whole trip cost me about

baht.

you can take a bus for 600-800 baht one way, or rent a car for a couple of days. Who on earth gets a cab for a 12h ride?

nah, the visa run buses from hua hin charge 5000 baht. I wanted to ride in style, more comfort. Too bad there is no closer option for people who dont want to fly.
