Asking for a friend of mine. Is it possible to get a non B with a tesol certificate only(No degree)? I know many expats are working with non B with but I don't know how.

To work in any school (formal, informal or non-formal) that is authorized under the education act or private school act you NEED a degree to get the letter of authorization that is needed to get the non-B visa. The visa is needed to get the work permit.

There are a few private language centers who can legally hire TEFL teachers who do not have a degree but they are few and far between.

They need to have enough Thai staff to be allowed to hire a foreigner and few enough students or small enough classes to be exempt from the rules (informal school).

Ty so much. So it seems his Tesol certificate isn't going help him to land a non B, besides he is also a student of a university in Bangkok studying Tesol. Currently he is on education visa.

Exactly! But it's possible. I met one he was from states and just finished his High school. Surprisingly he taught 10-12 grade students at that school.

Rupok, not really. There are ways around as with anything in life. It is not legitimate though. My friend is one of the largest employers of foreign teachers in Phuket, ge gas this issue all too often

There was a news a couple of months ago stating that the ministry of education is thinking to hire gap year students as a teacher in Thailand that's not definitely the same thing you are saying. Thais change their rules every now and then.

I have heard you can work as a trainer or instructor with non B and work permit. The contract would be different from the true pay. But my friend isn't sure how to do that and nobody seems want to share.

Yes sure, but that won't suffice for a legitimate work permit for teaching

After you finish your tesol, you need to work somewhere as a teacher to gain more experience.

you cant work on a Non B - you can work on a work permit.
