Teachers cannot obtain a 2-year Non-B visa in Thailand. Typically, they receive a Non-Immigrant B visa that allows for a single entry and a 90-day stay. Within those 90 days, teachers can apply for a 1-year extension of stay at the Immigration Office. While BOI company employees can secure a 2-year extension based on their employment, teachers have a different process. However, a 2-year work permit may be available for some education positions, so it's advisable to consult with your employer or the Ministry of Labor for more details.

BOI company employees can indeed get a 2 year extension of stay based on employment. Teachers cannot. :/
There is an option to get a 2 year work permit though for most employees. I'd ask your employer or go to the MOL and ask them.

Interesting, I may have an update on this by the end of the month. I’ll wait to see what happens first.

No, The Non Immigrant B visa you get at neighbor countries is only the Single Entry and gives you 90 days. Within these 90 days you can apply for an 1 year Extension of Stay at the Immigration Office in your area.

2 year work permit costs more. Most employers will only pay for a 1 year or 6 month one unless there sure you’ll stay.

Normally only BOI companies get the 2 year work permit, but I've seen the comment of Joe today where he as Director and 100% share holder of a company (he is US citizen,so there is a special treaty) that he applied for the 2 years work permit.

I don't think so. You get an extension of stay for 12 months but you have to report every 90 days I think
