It is not recommend while before visa approved while you go outside another country. The embassy will rejected you and serious check again if you do it again.

Once you have the visa, nothing matters. You can enter however or whenever you want.

this is simple not true, Immigration decide who enters or doesn’t enter the Kingdom, they are all powerful, doesn’t matter if you have a DTV, if the rules have been broken applying for a DTV you could easily be refused entry on a later trip.

In Thailand I would strongly recommend don’t people don’t try to be a “smart Alec”. Always follow the laws, as you are a foreigner in their Country, it doesn’t matter if Thais break rules, etc,

Also never overstay, keep within the rules and you will have nothing to be concerned about.

I don’t understand why applicant would leave the country they have applied in and return to Thailand before being granted a DTV (unless they have been refused one) The costs would outweigh having to stay a few extra days in the country you applied🤷🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I didn't say you're "entitled" to enter. I said it doesn't matter how you enter. There's no requirement or expectation that you're entering from any location, via method, on any date. You can do whatever you want and it makes no difference in regards to your visa for entry purposes.

I was just referring to those that might break the rules of DTV and leave the country where they chose to apply, before their application has been approved, it’s just not a very smart idea

It is not recommended to travel to another country as they may request for an interview or proof of location. If you're planning to come to Thailand while waiting, they may deny your application. For other countries, I'm not exactly sure but you'll have to pay for a new Round-trip flight ticket.

I was about to ask a similar question : apply in Vietnam, then enter in Thailand with a Tourist Visa and wait for approval in Thailand...

You can't enter Thailand while applying. They can call you for interview or check your location. If you're caught when in Thailand, they will deny it.
