TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to combine funds from two Thai bank accounts to meet the 800,000 baht requirement for a retirement extension. However, the applicant will need to provide two bank letters, two yearly transaction detail reports, and ensure that both bank books are updated on the application date. It's important to confirm with the local immigration office as there may be specific requirements regarding using multiple accounts.

so you know as general, there is no rule that limit you to use only one bank account to meet financial requirements. BUT there MIGHT immigration office specific requirements if they accepts multiple bank accounts or not. itโ€™s another story what you want to do in case your immigration office donโ€™t accept multiple accounts.

's comment, it would appear that not all immigration offices will accept two accounts. CHECK with your office well before you're going to apply for the extension to make sure they will and so you don't get caught out if they won't..

He can indeed but he will need TWO bank letter, TWO yearly transaction detail reports and to update the bank books at both banks on the date he applies ๐Ÿ™‚

not true I tried that and was refused and given a 60 day extension ( to visit family @ 1900bt ) for funds to be in 1 account for 2 months so all monies must be in only 1 account for immigration requirements as multiple accounts won't do it. I had several accounts at the BKK bank and supplied the required letters too and refused...Been here 10 yrs.

If you have been here 10 years you should know that every Immigration office has different rules as do banks and Amphurs!

@Durrant *******
that has to be an immigration office specific thing ๐Ÿ™

I'm sorry that happened, you should have held your ground and said you wanted to file a written appeal.

There is NOTHING in the rules that says it has to be in a single account and I know people in bangkok who have two accounts with 400K baht in each and who get yearly extensions with double the paperwork from the banks.

What office was this at?

this probably depends on the specific office and maybe even immigration officer. As far as I know, there's no rule against having the funds in separate accounts. But some officers might not want the hassle.
