Please help. I need a train ticket. I'm abroad and I can't buy a ticket at the box office. My online account isn't working. Can someone in my family buy a ticket for me and send it to me? You do not need a passport to buy a ticket online, but as far as I know, the account is assigned to the passport of the person who has the account. So can someone buy another person's ticket?

 , Sorry , I do not know all . Basic question was can someone buy ticket to other person answer is Yes. But it is good to know the fees because many times same price . Railway pay commision to agent I suppose . I bought many times air tickets to other persons and if directly from airline , many times more expensive . I dont know about trains . Hotel bookings same thing. Different prices , same hotel . From reception can be more expensive.

 ok just gave you a way to buy. Are you using a thai debit card to buy the ticket from dticket as you need to provide the OTP sent to your thai number too. I think just wait till your there.

 I passed the physical ticket to him when he came into country. This was about three years ago for steam train excursion which sell out quick but its the same booking system

 in order to buy a train ticket online you do need your passport number to buy it, the same as a Thai needing their ID number. Someone else can buy it for you, but they do need your passport number to do it. I buy quite a few train tickets online using
