ORIGINAL POSTERHey everyone! I am coming into Bangkok next week on Tuesday night and will be taking the overnight train to chiang Mai on Friday! I haven’t found any good places (if there are any) to buy tickets for the train.
Will it be an issue getting the tickets there with it only being 2 days prior to departure? Are there any ways to secure train ticket in advance?

Random suggestion, but how about going wild and buying your ticket and booking your seat in advance direct from the Thai Railways own web site? Works for me every time.
