I know I’ve seen a link in the group before to buy super cheap departure flights to have proof of exit when you don’t know your plans after leaving, but I can’t remember the website. Anyone have sites for this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community suggests various websites and options for purchasing cheap onward travel tickets, which are often necessary for visa requirements in Thailand. Some users recommend specific websites like onwardticket.com and bookonwardticket.com for affordable tickets, while others suggest alternatives like bus tickets or genuine flights to neighboring countries. There is a debate over the legitimacy and acceptance of onward travel tickets, with some users preferring to buy real tickets to avoid potential issues at immigration or with airlines.

Every entry clearance guy in the world has got to know about these booking sites by now.

I've used them in the past and they are legit up to a point but they don't have a ticket number if anyone decides to look closely.

Www.onwardticket.com is $16

Www.bookonwardticket.com is $10.

Just book a cheap £20 flight on Skyscanner to a neighbouring country, why mess about with "fake" tickets?? they are not far off the same price, if one day someone checks the ticket, it will get rejected. 🤷🙆🤦

it's like renting a ticket. The tickets are real, it's just that you don't keep them except for a couple of days.

I bought an onward ticket once before, it just looked like something someone had made on a word document, sure enough it had a booking reference, which I entered into the airlines website, and only information it had on the booking was my name nothing else, It obviously wasn't a genuine booking, my point is if someone decided at some point to check it out, it was obviously "fake" and it would get rejected, I personally don't see the point when you can buy a genuine ticket to a neighbouring country, for near enough the same price 🤷

the rented tickets aren't fake, and appear on airline's websites just like any other booking would.

of course onward tickets are "fake" you can't use it to fly anywhere, like I said it doesn't appear like any other booking on the airlines website, because I've checked it, it only had my name and no other personal details, the point is if someone at some point decided to check it, it obviously isn't a genuine booking, it could cause you problems with airline staff, embassy staff, immigration staff, the price difference between an onward ticket and a genuine ticket is nothing, just buy a genuine ticket, the onward ticket I had I would have been embarrassed to show it anyone, and insult there intelligence into thinking it's real.

@Andy *********
nope. The onward tickets are real, they don't look any different from purchased tickets on the airline's website. What you've seen is probably something else.

if you don't believe, or understand what I've explained that's fine, let's agree to disagree. 🤷🙆🤦

There are also tickets you can cancel and then get a refund.

Onward ticket.

But you could also get a bus ticket for 250 baht, Nong Khai to Thanaleng. I see no reason to waste more money on pointless requirements.

An international bus ticket is fine if the airline will accept it as departure proof

yep, and I even booked one on their request once. Needed proof of onward travel on my very first trip, and they told me to just get a bus ticket and they'd let me board.

You can buy 200 bath bus ticket

as far as I'm aware, bus and train tickets only take you to the border, some airlines or visa applications require flights, because flights actually take you out of the country.

my 6 months multi entry visa just got approved with exit bus ticket from hat yai to somwhere to malaysia. Why does an airline company need a return flight ticket from another company? Visa is not enough?I dont get this

I was told my METV would be rejected with a bus or train ticket, needs to be a flight, they also said I need a ticket for returning to Thailand, to show the need for an METV, maybe some embassies are more flexible, I think the airlines issue is, if you get denied entry into Thailand, it's their responsibility to return you to where you came from, the Thais like you to have a ticket for leaving Thailand within the number of days your stamped in for, due to overstay worries.

@Marija ********
I recently found an option for 250 and would be very interested to know about even cheaper options. Which exact trip is that?

Maria *********

Just do a Google search for "onward travel ticket" and you'll have many options. Some cost more than others, some have more features than others, like customizing where your flight starts and ends, or how long your ticket is valid
