TLDR : Answer Summary
Myanmar passport holders do not have the option for 'border bouncing' as they can only enter Thailand for 14 days by air without a visa. To extend their stay, they can either contact the Burmese embassy to request a 30-day extension at the immigration office, apply for a visa at a Thai consulate in a nearby country, or take a flight out and back into Thailand to receive another 14-day entry stamp.

There is no 'border bounce' for Burmese. They can only enter free stamp for 14 days by air and need a valid visa to enter by land.

They can contact the burmese embassy, get a letter go to the immigration office and apply for a 30 day 'embassy request' extension.

OR

They can go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and buy a visa

OR

they can fly out/back and get a 14 day entry stamp

thank you! They left after canceling their non-Ed extensions of stay and tried for another visa in Laos but were told no. We will look at the other options or other consulates for a visa. 🙏🏻 Very appreciative.

Grumpy consulate staff in Savannakhet. Denied several other Burmese people there. We will try for somewhere else.

unfortunately their 14 day visa exempt for Laos will expire before an available appointment at Vientiane 🫠

keep looking every day couple times a day, Vientiane adds appts often

Worst case you fly them back in to thailand get the 14 days on arrival then get the embassy letter to get them a 30 day in country extension to buy you time to try again

thank you for the information. I definitely am trying for the proper visa option. I read all your previous posts about visa exempt and worried the worst case scenario would be them denying them at the airport and making them book a plane ticket to their home country. But they don’t have any suspicious patterns or long term staying besides this one non-Ed that they actually used to study on. 🤷‍♀️ I’ll keep looking for openings at the embassy. Thanks.

immigration officer? Do you mean consulate staff?

Anyway lots of racism towards Burmese from Thai people.
