Can my mom extend her tourist visa for another 30 days in Samut Sakhon?

Hello,

My mom who’s on tourist visa (60 days) wants to extend her stay for another 30 days. We are currently in Samut Sakhon. Is it possible for her to extend in Samut Sakhon Immigration? We just moved to the province so we’re not familiar with the rules/procedure.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your mom can extend her 60-day tourist visa for an additional 30 days at the local Thai Immigration office in Samut Sakhon. It's important to file a TM30 address registration, which can be done by a hotel if you're staying there. However, experiences vary; some have reported difficulties in extending their visa in Samut Sakhon and were advised to go to another province instead. It's also recommended to seek assistance as the immigration office may have limited English speaking staff.

Yes no problem, not much English spoken there so you need a translator for her

and you were on a 60 day free stamp entry or a 60 day tourist visa entry but were not allowed to apply for a 30 day extension even though you had a TM30 filed showing you were staying in an area served by that office?

Wow !!

Yes, as she is Filipino, she can get an ADDED 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office...

A TM30 address registration will need to be filed with the Thai Immigration office.

Here's the common found requirements for the 30 days extension... Suggest you 🚫 NOT wait til her current expiration date ends as the extension is ADDED.

Are you staying in a hotel?

If you are, then the hotel should file with Thai Immigration the TM30 address registration form. Ask them for a screenshot of their filing.

if YOU are the landlord, you can register her TM30. If you just have rented a house, the landlord has to register your Mom TM30

I am not the house owner but they allowed me to register the TM30 upon moving 😅 so I have the log in and I just registered her last night 🙏🏻
