Hi. My close friend is on a retirement visa. He just realised his 90 day reporting was due on 9 March. He is currently in Krabi but normally reports in Bangkok. Can he go to Krabi Immigration to report and pay the fine? Or should he head quickly to Bangkok? Advice appreciated as always. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your friend cannot file his 90-day report in Krabi as it must be done at the location where he initially registered, which is in Bangkok. Since he is already 7 days late, he will incur a fine of 2,000 Thai baht. However, he does not need to rush back to Bangkok immediately; he can wait and pay the fine during his next visit to the immigration office.

If it was due March 9 and today is March 16...The filing of the 90 day report is already 7 days late.
Cannot file in Krabi...
And not practical to go to Bangkok today ...
The fine of 2,000 Thai baht will be collected at the next time he needs any service from Thai Immigration. It does not increase....so he can wait and pay later.
