Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a Thai ID card without my Mother present? I currently hold UK passport but wanting to apply for Thai ID/Thai passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether an individual with a UK passport can obtain a Thai ID card without their mother being present. Many comments highlight the importance of the mother's presence at the Thai embassy or local amphur, and suggest contacting Thai authorities for guidance. Participants share advice on necessary documentation, such as the blue Tabien Baan book, the translation and legalization of the birth certificate, and suggest taking Thai-speaking relatives for assistance during the process.

Ohhhh ok that’s super helpful! Looks like best option is to go to the village then ☺️
yeah I’m sure I can and my mum has the real blue Tabien Baan book but she’s not willing to send it to me. So currently I’m trying to find out if my sister has a copy of it
I went to the Amphur here in phuket and they turned me away and said my mum needs to be here and that I need to go to the Amphur in her hometown nothing can be done in phuket which seems unreasonable

Toni MatthewsYou will need the blue Tabien Baan with your mum's name in.
I posted on there too and thank you that’s very helpful ☺️

I’ve just started the same process. You need to go the Thai embassy in London with lots of forms with your mother. Drop them an email, they were super helpful with the process.

No harm in trying though! I believe you have to get your first ID card in your Thai hometown.
