TLDR : Answer Summary
The legality of working on a NON-O visa in Thailand depends on having a valid work permit. If the work permit is issued for your role as a teacher, it is permitted to work for that specific employer. However, it is important to verify that your visa does not prohibit employment, as some spousal visas contain language that may limit work options. For clarification, you can contact the Ministry of Labor or your local Immigration office to ensure your work permit aligns with your visa type.

As mentioned by others, but to make it easy to find, just next to the M from sample the text is there: To be on the safe side, ask the Ministry of Labor, if they do not support your visa or Extension of Stay type you will not get a Work Permit with other words you need to change your visa.

Than tell your school or the person who does not like to understand: this is the phone number of the Ministry of Labor and this is the phone number of the local Immigration office, they speak Thai language, so do not worry about translations. Have a nice day.

In my experience, for visas that you can't work on, the words "employment forbidden" (or something similar) is printed on the visa. Do you see anything like that on your visa?

no, nothing said “employment forbidden there”

Many spousal visas say “work is prohibited“ In many instances, if one has this as a condition of their visa, the must often go back to their home country to get a new visa in order to work.

Without this restriction, it’s possible. Yes

You can work if you have a work permit, but you can only work for the place you have the work permit for.

I have been in Thailand and on a marriage visa for 15+ years. I was allowed to work when I had work permits. You shouldn't have any issues.
