I’m on a non-o M (Thai spouse) I have a work permit, I am a teacher at a school. Went into Chiang Rai immigration today to update address and the officer gave me a hard time, for the first time ever, asking how I am on a non-o with a work permit saying that I need to be on a Non-b. I asked her if I NEED to be on the B because I know I do not and she just kept saying it is better (I don’t agree at all) — why would she say this? I explained that Labour wouldn’t have given me the work permit if it wasn’t allowed. She kept saying that when my visa is up (My visa expires next week but I am stamped until early December) I need to get a non-b or I can do the non-o and do extension at immigration. Are they trying to push out the non-o M spouse visa? Was she just trying to save face because she knows that I can have the non-o M?
