Hi, I am going to start a new job in November and will be moving from Germany to Bangkok. Now the company is taking care of my visa and work permit, but they say in order to get a visa (Non-O I believe) for my German partner we would need to be married. Is that true? Can my partner not get a visa as a dependant on me?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual moving to Bangkok for work is seeking clarification on whether their unmarried partner can obtain a visa while they are on a Non-O visa, which is generally for married couples. Comments confirm that typically, a dependent visa in Thailand is only issued to spouses and children, thereby requiring marriage for the partner to obtain a visa based on the employment contract. An alternative suggestion of an Elite visa for the partner is also mentioned.
