Hi!

I’m applying for a 60 day tourist visa from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I hold a Mexican passport and need a visa for Thailand regardless. I’ll be training Muay Thai and got a letter from the gym saying where my accommodation will be and what I’ll be up to when in Thailand. My question is, can the in/out tickets be bus tickets? I will potentially extend for one more month and don’t want to lose too much money.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and is inquiring whether bus tickets can be used as proof of travel for their visa application. They hold a Mexican passport and have confirmed accommodation and activities in Thailand. A comment advises that while bus tickets are acceptable, the destination for the outgoing ticket must be to a neighboring country, not a border town within Thailand.

Yes, but be aware that the destination of the out ticket must be in a neighbor country. Not to a border town in Thailand.

Just passing on what a agent told me , and a good agent at that . At that stage I had no intention of returning to Cambodia in the short term .

This is from their website: 4. Travel tickets in and out of Thailand. You need to meet all the requirements if not they deny the application.

I asked this question of an agent in Cambodia early this year , and was told no , it must be a flight . Be aware Phnom Penh is possibly the hardest consulate to get a tourist visa , lately they have a history of accepting applications ,and the fee , and then refusing to grant a visa . It is best to consult a good agent prior to applying .

You need proof of leaving Thailand, not proof of a bus ride inside Thailand. I don't care the price, it is just a matter of meeting the requirements and get a Visa or save money and get application denied. Your choice.
