So I've read much about the perils of applying for a tourist visa in Phnom Penh but I'm hoping my situation might stand up at the embassy and want your delightful opinion on whether or not I have a shot. Here are some points to my credit.

I have never applied for a tourist visa before from any place so there are none on my record.

The last time I was in Thailand was on a visa exempt which I then extended by one month. There are sure to be more visa exempts on my record as Bangkok has been used as a transit stop for me previously but those were always short.

I already have an out flight to Taipei this summer and can conjure up proof of funds if the embassy requires that as well.

So you think I stand a chance? Thanks for the all the advice mates.

“Transit Stop”? What is that. Are you talking transfers, transfers do not get a stamp.

Transit as in I've been in Bangkok for a day or two before catching my pre-arranged flight out.

What happened with your plan to go to Vientiane to get the Tourist Visa?

I thought it best to rethink how I was going about things so I'll be applying for a long term education visa later this year but I first need a tourist visa to keep me till the summer.

Why PP ? There are much easier Consulates to go to.

@Martin *******
, meet the requirements there get the visa. Don't meet them don't get the visa. It's NOT known as a user friendly consulate and they give you no latitude

I'm currently living in Sieam Reap so PP is the most convenient option.

Why wouldn't you be able to obtain a tourist visa.

I've just read that PP is notorious for being hit or miss even at the best of circumstances.

I have no idea, as i have to visit their website first to share with you their requirements.

But if you go and have a look yourself, make sure you meet them all, I would say go and apply.

According to the official embassy site I meet all the requirements for a single entry tourist visa, yes.
