TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying online for a 60-day tourist visa to Thailand, the requirement for a return or onward flight is generally flexible. Most users have indicated that a flight within 60-90 days is acceptable, and some have successfully used flights booked for 89 days from their entry date. It's also noted that any onward flight out of Thailand within 60 days suffices, meaning you do not necessarily need a return flight. If needed, applicants can provide a proposed booking or an onward ticket for visa purposes.

Don’t compare days with nights. Check the rules

I did it in 2018 at the Thai Embassy/consulate in Paris. My onward ticket was at the 89th day. Was good, no problems at all. Which makes sense, your plan is to stay 90 days, and you can stay 90 days. So why would they want to make it just difficult.

I showed flight out 89 days from start of visa. That was in Mexico , I guess each embassy has there own rules

I think they all have the same rules, but they might not bother too much on certain things, sometimes.

No my mothers flight I sorted out was exactly 90 days. As you can extend a tourist visa another 30 days. And after that you could go out and back in again for another 45 days etc. so as long as they see a booking I wouldn’t worry

yes mate all quit straight forward my own visa was a non o for 90 days From October and my flight out is not until April so as I said so long as they see a flight I don’t think dates are that important as once here there’s many options to stay

thanks, I’m after a 60 day tourist visa & extending in thailand, so i was unsure if they would accept onward travel after the 60 days

You don't need a return flight. Any onward flight out of the country within 60 days of entering the country will suffice

Usually within 60 days. You can try just sending a screenshot of a proposed booking for 60 days or less and see if they accept it. Or you can Google "onward travel ticket" and rent a fully valid plane ticket for about $15 for the purpose of your visa application and book your actual flight in that 60-90 day window.

If they don't like what you send they'll email you for additional information.

How long are the onward tickets valid for & would check in ask you for depature flight confirmation ?

varies based on the website you use and how much you pay. But I doubt anyone actually checks.
