Im about to apply for an extension based on marriage .

My wife has two properties.

The one closest to immigration is the property that has her name in the blue book.But we dont like staying there.

The other property which is 150km from immigration is where we spend more time .

Can we use the further away property for the extension by supplying the chanote as the blue book for that property doesnt list her name.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa extension based on marriage in Thailand, it is essential to use the address you actually reside in, regardless of ownership. If the property you live in is not in your wife's name but you have a chanote (land title), this may be sufficient for your application. Immigration may inspect the property, so ensure that it's registered correctly and where you mostly live. If necessary, consider updating the house registration or providing a lease agreement in your name from your wife for the property.

you need to use the Immigration office that serves the location where your most recent TM30 has been logged in

Both properties are served by the same office.

So I will refine a new tm30 for the property where I spend the most time.

okay. And this will be where Immigration will conduct a house visit during the 4 weeks under consideration period

Wife's property makes zero difference.

YOU need a chanote or a lease in your name.

If she is the owner, she can simply make a lease for you and you are done.

Why would I need a lease?The chanote is in her name

@Tony *******
You don’t need a lease. With a housebook or chanote she can do a TM.30 on you.

Exactly ,thanks.

Ill get her to do the tm30 before new year

You cannot freely choose which property to use based on convenience. The address used for the extension must match where you are officially registered and where the competent immigration office has jurisdiction. If you want to use the second property, you may need to update the house registration or be prepared to file the extension at the immigration office covering that location. Both housebook and chanote can be used for filling a TM.30.

Use the property where you will be living as Immigration will most likely do a visit to confirm the address and marriage.

There is no rule that you have to live in owned property. You must use the address you really live in, regardless of owned or not.

Ok thats great ,we will use the further away property for the extension.

So is there no need to put her name in the other further away house book?She has owned both properties for many years
Ellie *******
@Tony *******
, Basically, no need. But you/she may need proof that the property belongs to her. This is because you have to prove that you live in the place legally.
