Hi,
I will be applying for a 1 year extension of stay, based on marriage, at Koh Samui immigration soonish.
We have recently moved apartments and it's proving fairly difficult for my wife to change her tabien baan to the new address, as the umphur needs both, old and new, landlord's present to sign forms.
Would like to check if it's possible to get an extension if my wife is still registered at the old address, (wishful thinking) or will she definitely need to change before applying for the extension?
Thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant is inquiring about the possibility of securing a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage while their wife is still registered at her previous address, amidst difficulties in updating her house registration. A commenter clarified that a Thai house book can be held anywhere in Thailand and that there is no requirement for her to hold a house book in the area where the extension is being applied.
