Can I use a digital DTV E-VISA on my phone at BKK airport?

I just arrived at BKK airport. I showed the DTV E-VISA on phone, I did not print it out.

They said that’s OK.

No questions, stamped as seen on the photo. :)

Thanks, I’ll try it next time.

So you are proud of yourself in being able to use your cell phone to show PROOF of having a DTV Visa. Congratulations 👏👏👏.

It's not what you should have done... BUT it worked for you.

it’s not about proudness, it is sharing experience.

This is an e-visa, you don’t need to print it out if you don’t want. It is already assigned in their system with your passport number so maybe you even don’t need to show nothing. In my case they did not scanned its datacode/qr-code just when I showed I have this visa, the officer looked something on the computer while has my passport in her hands. And said it’s OK.

Anonymous participant glad to hear you were successful. The print out serves as an easy way to use when you are getting the boarding pass for your flight ✈️ and the airline staff ask to see your Thai Visa and they pass it around to the supervisor to get approval from them to issue you the boarding pass. Passing around your cellphone is not handy vs a print out of the Thai Visa. Being the DTV visa is new, all airline staff are aware of it. As are the CV connecting airport staff when they want to see your Thai Visa to board the flight to Thailand.

So your flight ✈️ arrival with Thai Immigration Officers are not the only ones which a print out of the Evisa can be helpful.

the airline staff does not need any proof of any Visa. Maybe for some passports it could be a point but during online check-on you jus simply upload it. No any airline staff wanted to see any Visa…

Anonymous participant I can assure you that any flight ✈️ from the USA will require the flyer to show PROOF of the Thai Visa or Visa Exempt Entry for entry into Thailand. IF visa exempt entry, the airline wants to see your flight departing Thailand within the number of days you are stamped into Thailand. And there's others who have had the same question asked on check-in in other countries.

that would be very interesting since U.S. citizens can enter Thailand without a visa.

Same with my country. Would be very weird if the airline staff would wait a visa from the passenger while no visa requiered to enter the country…

Anonymous participant many airlines will ask to see the visa of you don't have an onward/return ticket booked within the 60 day visa exempt period. You have to prove how you will be able to enter Thailand legally for a longer stay.

nonsense since you can leave on land or on sea. It’s not the airline’s business how will you leave…

Could someone explain why there are so many posts in this group from members who were successful in being able to use their DTV visa? I mean were they surprised/shocked and expecting otherwise? 😉

Anonymous participant 796 next we will start seeing daily posts from people telling us they managed to check in smoothly for their flights, hotels etc, even booked a taxi on Grab and it actually picked them up and took them to their destination 😊

@Sw***
you may be in the wrong group if you don’t want up to date information on the DTV its uses, pros and cons, this isn’t the place for you. … 🤷🏻‍♂️
Sweet *****
Anonymous participant 124 totally happy with the upto date information, it’s a very popular subject and a great group, just not sure how someone saying they were successful in entering can be considered as “upto date information”. Anyway it wasn’t a complaint, more of an observation question.

the point is some people reported at some airport they required the visa printed out and checked they had enough funds etc.

The point of my post was to tell the experience at BKK airport. This group is about the DTV visa and it seems entering Thailand with this VISA is sometimes different regarded to the airport, etc.

so this is just sharing experience.
