TLDR : Answer Summary
For holders of a DTV visa considering a border bounce, there is no officially stipulated minimum stay period when exiting Thailand. However, there are suggestions from the community that it is advisable to remain outside of Thailand for at least a day to avoid complications during re-entry. Factors such as the specific border used and the discretion of Thai Immigration Officers can significantly influence the process. Some users recommend using a border run service to facilitate a same-day return with a new 180-day stamp. It's also noted that each border may have its own rules regarding re-entry.

Border bounce means stamp out, stamp in neighbor country, stamp out neighbor counrty and stamp in Thailand, can be done within minutes.

If you do not have the time to leave Thailand for a short break, visit your local Immigration Office and apply for a 180 day Extension of Stay.

I dont think there is anything written in official rules. However, it may come down to an individual officer not looking very positively at someone, who is trying to enter the country, having exited just 5 minutes ago.

And for visa exempt at some borders they just say "At this border we don't do it this way" and at that moment you don't have any choice because in the end they decide about entry.

It depends on the border you use and the Thai Immigration Officers you meet.

Suggest you use an experienced border run service company to take you with same day return guaranteed with a new 180 days stamp in your passport.

What is your passport nation?

Where are you now living in Thailand?

Flying out and returning the same day is possible.
