TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is considering traveling to the Philippines while on a Covid extension in Thailand and is concerned about returning under the same extension. Responses indicate that a Covid extension typically does not allow travel since it explicitly states an inability to travel. In addition, there are concerns that immigration may scrutinize the traveler's intentions given their prolonged stay in Thailand. It is suggested that re-entry might only grant a 30-day visa upon return, regardless of the traveler's history in Thailand, and paying attention to entry requirements for the Philippines is also advised.

Before you think about going. Have you checked Philippines entry requirements? I thought that they were still doing the two week quarantine.

You' ll get a 30 day visa when you return.

Nothing to do at all about how many times you have visited. For more than 10 years I have visited 40+ times...I treat each arrival as the first time...either just 30days on arrival, or the appropriate visa for my intended stay organised before travel...simple really.

We who have retired here and living here for years do not get such privileges. Even if we left the country and returned on our valid retiree visa, we had to go through all the same protocols just as any tourist (though we are NOT tourists coming in only for a short time). Do you think others will get such privileges as sought in these posts? This is one reason why I have not left at all. More expensive to return. I am waiting for normalcy as pre-Covid days.

Lol. No. They won’t let you back in on your Covid extension. They may question your intentions as you have spent over a year here, go on a 2 week holiday and wish to re-enter as a tourist. Maybe avoid BKK for re-entry

Actually think about it. It is an unable to travel extension, and you are showing immigration you can travel, so do you think they will give you another unable to travel extension when you just showed them you can travel?

If you're a couple of weeks out, you should be fine, but i doubt anyone will be able to tell you with any certainty since it depends on how Immigration sees your 'been here a lot'.

Obviously nobody here has a list 'been here 10 times -> ok' 'been here 11 times -> not ok'

You cannot get a re-entry permit on an "unable to travel due to Covid" extension because it literally says you can't travel in the name of the extension.
