TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about returning to Thailand after a month of being away while primarily on a Covid extension. A comment suggests that returning after multiple Covid extensions might raise questions at immigration. It emphasizes the importance of obtaining a proper visa and having three proofs ready for immigration: 20,000 baht in cash, booked accommodation or an invitation letter if staying with friends/relatives, and an outbound travel ticket within the allowed time.

Almost certainly they’ll question why you are returning after so many Covid extensions. Best to get an actual visa that allows for the time you want to spend otherwise they could deny you entry.

To mitigate chances of being refused entry make sure you have the three “proofs” that they may request.

1. Cash. 20,000 baht or equivalent in a major currency. Has to be cash. A credit card or bank statement or phone app will not suffice.

2. Accommodation booked. At least for the first few days. If you’re staying with a friend or relatives then have them write you an invitation letter clearly stating that you will be staying with them.

3. A flight (or bus ticket) out within the number of days your entry allows regardless that you can apply for and extension in country. If it’s a bus ticket it must be an international one. A ticket to a border town -where you can walk across a border won’t cut it.

None of the above will guarantee entry, as it’s up to the immigration officer you hand your passport to.

if you have a non immigrant visa on return then there should be no issues at all.
