Hello!

I went to an immigration office because want yo know what can I do for a stay extension. I’m Peruvian, have 90 days (until july 23rd) and I don’t need a visa. They told me that I can apply for a covid extension (60 more days) for 1900 bahts. I have a couple of questions about that and maybe here you guys can help me:

1 - It’s pretty much sure to do that? I mean, I need to give them an explanation or they are giving them just “if you pay the fee”?

2- This is the most important one: Can I have any problem if after those 60 days I go out for a week and then come back to Thailand?

Thanks for the time!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Peruvian national, is seeking information on extending their stay in Thailand, currently allowed for 90 days without a visa. They have learned about the possibility of a 60-day COVID extension for a fee and have questions regarding the certainty of approval for this extension and implications for re-entry after leaving Thailand.

Living in Thailand using the Extension of Stay based on unable to travel and/or the 90 days bilateral agreement you get on entry does not sound like the intention of the making of the rules.

To avoid all questions and fears of getting into a country is using the visa that fits the purpose of your stay.

There is no way we can tell if you can enter without any question, with some questions which some people call a real hassle. It is the job of the Immigration Officer to check people willing to enter the country.
