Is it difficult to re-enter Thailand after being on Covid visa extensions for over 6 months?

I've been on Covid Extentions for over 6 months now, when it comes time to leave (I'll be travelling to a neighbouring country for an undecided period of time) I've heard re-entry can be hard after that, and I would need to stay out of Thailand for a certain period of time before they will let me back in. Is this true, and if so how long? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers on Covid extensions for over 6 months may face scrutiny upon re-entry to Thailand. Although there is no official mandated duration for how long to stay outside the country, it is advisable to prepare by having sufficient proof of funds, accommodation bookings, and an onward flight. Some travelers report having been able to re-enter without issues, while others encountered questions or were advised to apply for a different visa. Individual experiences vary.

I had almost the same situation than you. Then i entered again from Cambodia to Thailand. I got new visa exemption stamp as a usual. They said i will not get possible 30 day. extension and i should travel outside to apply tourist visa. But yesterday immigration provide extension me without any concerns. TIT πŸ™ƒ

You may well be questioned on return if you don’t have a valid visa (perhaps even if you do). There is no set time you have to be away. To mitigate any issues on return make sure you have the 3 proofs. 20,000 baht or equivalent in cash. Booked accommodation for a few days at least and a flight out within the number of days allowed.

Noted Stuart, I will do exactly as you have instructed upon my return to Thailand. I'll probably be away for at least 6 months anyway.
