Can I exit Thailand and re-enter for another 30-day visa exemption if I plan to stay until late February?

Hello friends! My visa exemption 30 day extension ends on Dec 28. I would like to stay in Thailand until late Feb, so I will be applying for the 60 day covid extension soon. However, I am worried of being declined, since I've heard they are being more strict now. Therefore, I'm trying to make a backup plan. My question is this: if I fly to Singapore (or anywhere else, really) for a few days, then fly back to Thailand, will they grant another 30 day visa exemption +30 day extension? If so, are there any restrictions on doing this? This tactic seems odd to me, so I figured I'd ask. Thank you very much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the feasibility of exiting Thailand to re-enter for an additional 30-day visa exemption and subsequent extension amidst concerns about stricter COVID-19 extension rules. Responses suggest that if the user can travel to Singapore or another country and return, they might be eligible for another 30-day visa exemption and could apply for a 30-day extension based on tourism. However, it is noted that all entry requirements, including the Thai Pass for re-entry, must be met, and there is a risk of being flagged for 'border bouncing' if done excessively.

Please report back if and when you try the border bounce.

Would still need all the other requirements though to enter Thailand on return, Thai Pass etc

What you are asking is about border bouncing. In theory, if you are able to enter Singapore, you can return to Thailand in a 30 day visa exempt by air and you can get another 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.

A person can get as many visa exempt by air, until the Thai government believe they are abusing the system.

The alternative plan is not odd. You wil not be the first person who leaves Thailand and decide on a later date that it is a nice country and come back for a new holiday period.

You get a new 30 day period of stay if you enter without a visa, or buy the correct visa for the purpose and length of your newly planned stay.
