Hello, I’ve heard that some people had troubles entering the country after having too many covid extensions.

I have 5 covid stamps - I have left Thailand for a month and now plan to go back.

(So only 1 month out).

Can I do a visa exemption or is it better to request a tourist visa (if I can ?) ?

Many thanks for your help 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is concerned about the possibility of entering Thailand after receiving multiple COVID-related visa extensions. They are considering their options between re-entering under a visa exemption or applying for a tourist visa. Comments suggest that, due to past issues with multiple entry stamps, it would be safer to apply for a tourist visa, ensuring to have necessary documentation and cash upon arrival. Additionally, it's recommended to avoid entering through Suvarnabhumi Airport due to its strict policies, and instead consider entering through airports like Phuket or Chiang Mai, which may be more lenient.

Avoid entering from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), try entering via Phuket or Chiang Mai, as they are friendlier with people with many stamps. Suvarnabhumi have a history, which began far before Covid, of making it difficult for people with many stamps to re-enter Thailand. If you have no choice and have to enter via Suvarnabhumi, make sure to have an agent phone number who has contacts at the airport. The agent will help you bribe your way in if you are about to get denied. It's very common in Suvarnabhumi.

Thai Visa Centre (the owner of this FB group), can help you get in. But I suggest that you just avoid Suvarnabhumi.

I assume you mean visa exempt and not visa on arrival.

You're almost certain to have problems if you try to enter visa exempt.

Get a tourist visa, have at least 20,000₿ IN CASH on you, a flight out of Thailand within 60 days of arrival, and print out your first 1-2 hotel reservations for where you'll be going when you arrive in Thailand.

If you have all of these, you will likely be able to get into the country.
