I would like to request a general clarification regarding travel with a renewed passport.
I recently renewed my passport and therefore now hold a new passport with a new passport number.
However, my valid Thailand DTV visa is still issued in my previous (old) passport.
Could you please confirm whether it is acceptable to travel with both passports (old passport containing the valid visa and new passport for identification) and whether boarding is permitted in this case?
And do I need anything to proof to the airline (Turkish Airlines) when I travel to Thailand, could they refuse me?
I would appreciate your general guidance on this matter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This inquiry seeks clarification on whether it is permissible to travel to Thailand holding a new passport that contains a different passport number while also possessing a valid DTV visa in an old passport. Several community members confirmed that it is acceptable to travel with both passports and there should be no issues at boarding or immigration, as long as the old passport with the visa is present.
Your new passport has a reference to your old passport.
Your fingerprints, facial recognition, dob, name, country of origin to name a few, will link both passports when the Immigration Officer does the check.
Many people travel with one passport, due to lost of stolen of passports, but some people will keep telling: YOU NEED BOTH passports to travel.
Meaning those who got their passport stolen or lost it, are not allwoed to travel the rest of their lives, which is a very strange way to advice people.
BUT I ask to put your old passport in your bag and keep it their, please post a comment after you entered Thailand how it all went.
You can travel with both passports ( old + new). We are a family holding DTV visas. We just travelled to Thailand last week. My husband and son renewed their passport last month and they held both passports (old +new) while traveling to Bangkok. No questions, no issues and simply approved with 6 months validity.
