Hi, I am a UK passport holder with DTV issued October 2024 from the London Embassy.

I have just renewed my UK passport. I'm travelling into Thailand again in December 2025.

What do I need to do regarding the new passport number, when I get to immigration as the DTV document states old passport details?

Or is there something I should do before I travel?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer summary

The user is a UK passport holder who has a DTV visa issued in their old passport. After renewing their passport, they seek advice on how to handle the new passport at Thai immigration when traveling in December 2025, given that the visa is linked to the old passport. A comment suggests that it is advisable to travel with both passports to avoid issues.

You travel with both passports for the life of the visa.

You may get away with a photocopy of the old passport but I wouldn’t chance it.
