Can I travel to Myanmar and back to Thailand to refresh my tourist stamp?

Currently in Bangkok, US Passport, on an already extended 30 day tourist stamp which expires 31 March.

Just received my Myanmar E Visa and could round trip it to Yangon and back by air today to refresh the stamp (Non-B Paperwork is processing for a new job here in Bangkok).

Any anecdotal evidence of successful turnarounds this way? From what I understand the mandatory Virus test certificate and insurance comes into effect on Sunday? Any leads? Huge Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder in Bangkok is considering traveling to Myanmar for a quick turnaround to refresh their tourist visa stamp before it expires. There is anecdotal evidence suggesting that travelers may be allowed back into Thailand without additional COVID-19 testing, provided they meet certain entry requirements into Myanmar. However, the situation is rapidly changing, and restrictions may apply, including the need for health certificates and potential changes to visa processing. Travelers should confirm current regulations and consider obtaining a visa from the Myanmar consulate in advance.

Hi. Any updates about the possibilty of flying out to Yangon, then flying back to Thailand? Anymore restriction as to now? I've seen Myanmar has suspended e-visa. Is it still possible to fly there, and then back to Thailand? Thank you!

if you BUY a visa from the Myanmar consulate BEFORE you to you should be able to get in

I just checked with the Air Asia Sales Desk and the Check in Counter before checking in. They went to Immigration to ask about flights arriving from Myanmar today (March 20th, 2020) and they said I would be fine to travel back in to Thailand without a Covid-19 Test.

I will confirm this after arrival for anyone who's looking for further information. Fingers Crossed. ๐Ÿคž

Seems as if you've been in Thailand(no travel history as per above), go to Myanmar and return back to Thailand before Sunday, you should, in theory, be allowed back in without a covid test or proof of insurance. I'll update this thread for anyone who's interested. Going to Yangon and back today.

The borders got closed late yesterday, and I don't think anyone did this yet. *IN THEORY*, if you're allowed into Myanmar, you should be able to get out and get another 30 day visa exempt stamp when you return.

You may need a health certificate? You should get it before you depart.

>(Non-B Paperwork is processing for a new job here in Bangkok)

That makes me nervous; it should be easy for your business to collect the documents to get the non-B visa; and there is a process to convert a visa exempt stamp to a Non-B, if my memory serves me correct.

You mean land borders into Myanmar correct?
