What should I do before my Non-B visa expires if I'm traveling to Laos?

My visa expires March 31st, so I’m planning on flying to Laos for a day.

I’ve just heard that Thailand has closed their visa on arrival for 17 countries.

While Laos is not one of the countries, my trip is still a few weeks away.

Any advice on what I should do?😅

Edit: my non b visa is expiring. I will come back on a tourist visa before I head back to America.

Just want to know if I should present a medical certificate or just not go😅 Hahhaha

I don’t want to get stuck in Laos before my move back to America

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a trip to Laos to reset their visa before returning to the USA. They are concerned about recent visa restrictions in Thailand and whether they need a medical certificate for entry. However, commenters clarify that entry to Thailand depends on the passport's country of origin, and as an American citizen, they should not face restrictions. They advise proceeding with the trip while monitoring trustworthy news sources for any updates.

There is no reason to change your plans, based on the current situation. There are no restrictions that would affect you leaving Thailand, entering Laos or vice versa. I would say proceed and keep an eye on reputable news sources (not some of the more spurious rumours one sees on FB)

Further, I just came back from Laos. There are no restrictions on Americans or most other nationalities in Laos, as of Wednesday

it is getting confused after the edit of the text and now people try to help out to do it correctly.

Your visa ends 31 March 2020. Is this the 90 days entry you got when you bought a new Visa at a Thai Consulate end of December or is this the last day of the big stamp Extension of Stay is permitted up to 31 March 2020. I guess you know and arrange already to cancel your Work Permit and if you have this Extension of Stay before you travel.

Are you going to apply for a Tourist Visa in Laos?

Which Thai Consulate in Laos?

Just how long are you really planning on staying in Thailand ?

When are you returning to the USA ?

yes I have to get a visa to Laos.

Not going to a consulate. My non b & work permit expire for Thailand on March 31st.

My flight back to America is April 7th. So I will be returning to Thailand on a tourist visa for my last 7 days here

You are allowed to enter Thailand based on the country of your passport. As an American citizen, there are no current restrictions entering Thailand.

The Visa on Arrival policy to enter Laos is based on the Laos government, and not Thailand's policy. I don't think Laos will close their borders.

Not sure what you heard but to get into Thailand depends of the country of origin of your passport, not on the country where you spent a night.
